Abstract
The incidences of Diegoa antigen among Koreans are reported to be 6.14 to 14.5%.
Diegoa blood factor is known to be absent in pure Caucacians and present exclus¡þively among American Indians and Mongolians. Therefore anti-Diego¢¥ in Caucacians should be rare but it can be expected to be high in Orientals.
Recently the authors observed a case with anti-Dia in her serum, which was detected by routine irregular antibody screening test at an antiglobulin phase.-T=6 patient was repeatedly transfused during the treatment for the ovarian cancer, probably
contributing the presence of irregular antibody "anti -Diegoa ,Because the
of anti-Diegoa was detected presence¡þprior to the cross-matching, the patient was transfused
with the selected compatible Diegoa negative blood, which could prevent the possible hemolytic transfusion reaction.
